Originally developed in Scotland in the late 1700’s, Angus have always been bred purely for the production of highest quality beef indicated by the smooth, close-grained texture, carnation red colour and finely marbled fat within the lean muscle. Angus is now the dominant breed in the major beef producing countries of the world where beef quality is considered all-important. In Australia, Angus is continuing this dominance, winning gold medals in various prestigious beef tasting competitions & carcass competitions across all breeds at Australia’s Royal Agricultural Societies Shows.
Angus Beef – Quality Assured for Taste, Juiciness and Tenderness
Angus is known throughout the world for their ability to consistently produce the finest high quality beef. Straightbred and crossbred Angus steers are keenly sought after for pasture and feedlot finishing programs to target high quality beef markets. The superior meat quality of Angus cattle comes from their ability to lay down intra-muscular marbling (taste) fat during the finishing phase, together with excellent tenderness, texture, flavour, meat colour and fat colour.
Based on Angus genetics. The Angus breed is one of the few breeds originally developed for beef production only. The consequent finely marbled, firm texture, and even fat cover that are the hallmarks of Angus cattle assure the consumer of a superior beef meal.

Why Grass fed?
Most Australian cattle are raised and fattened exclusively on pasture. Variations in seasonal and geographic factors influence the style and quality of grass fed beef. As demand for natural, wholesome foods increases, Australian grass fed beef is being seen as an important component of a healthy diet. Raised exclusively on pasture, Australian grass fed beef is naturally low in fat and cholesterol, while offering a higher level of Omega 3 fatty acids, thought to lower blood pressure and reduce the risks of certain types of cancers. For these reasons, consumers are increasingly seeking out lean, grass fed meats.
Fat content: Overall there seems a lower overall quantity of fat in grass fed beef compared to grain fed beef. The type of fat found in grass fed beef also catches some attention. It is professed that the fat in grass fed beef has more Omega 3 fatty acids which are said to be beneficial to human health.
Antioxidants and Vitamin A: Furthermore, other good antioxidants and trace elements are present in the grass fed variety including Beta Carotene which gives not too much but just enough Vitamin A to the body.
Appearance: It is the Beta Carotene that gives the fat in grass fed beef its telltale slightly yellow hue and grass fed beef to have lower levels of intramuscular fat.
